This course is designed to strengthen student awareness of three
dimensional, form, texture, and to enrich textile perception. The student is the
determining factor in the selection and interpretation of subject matter dealing
with realism, nonobjective and abstraction. Media will vary greatly for this course
and may include materials such as: clay, wood, plaster, wire, plastics, fibers,
metal, etc. Slides of sculptures, past and contemporary, will be used and discussed
to provide students with a knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for creatively
expressing thoughts, ideas, and feelings in 3-D terms. This course is based on
advanced techniques and skills and students wishing to take the course should
consider this.
