In this course the student is offered experiences considered basic to painting.
They represent a variety of approaches to the painters problems and emphasize
those elements which provide an aesthetic foundation for painting. Students will
explore both two-dimensional and three-dimensional painting and use a variety
of media, both experimental and traditional in manner. The knowledge, skills and
learning developed through drawing should be put to use in painting problems.
Different medias of painting will include: oil, watercolor, and tempera. The course
will also include an understanding and appreciation of painting and its development
as demonstrated by artists of the present and past. This course is based upon
advanced techniques and skills and students wishing to take the course should
consider this.
