KEYBOARDING II
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Pocket folder (KEEP IN ROOM)
Pen or pencil
Paper (notes)
COURSE CONTENT: Review of keyboard (drills, exercises), letters, memos, reports, tables, simulations, timed writings, quizzes, and tests. We will also work on databases, spreadsheets, and desktop publishing.
WORK HABITS: BE ON TIME! It will be very important in this class for you to listen and follow directions carefully. Never key (type) while I am talking.
GRADING: You will be graded on daily assignments, timed writings, quizzes, and tests. (Some daily assignments will not be graded. There may be a check mark in the grade book. If the check mark is not there, you will receive a zero.) If you receive a below passing grade on a test or quiz, you will be required to retake the test or quiz before or after school. Any assignment with a below passing grade will also have to be redone. The highest grade on any assignment, test, or quiz that is redone will be a 70%. If the retake or redo is not done within the specified time, you will receive the failing grade.
Your grade will consist of the following:
1. Daily Work
2. Test and Quizzes (count double and are graded on a straight percentage)
3. Timed Writings (percentages based on comparison chart)
The following grading scale will be used:

1 = 94 - 100
2 = 86 - 93
3 = 78 - 85
4 = 70 - 77
5 = 69 & Below

Any student who shares their password with another student runs the risk of shared assignments. Both parties involved with shared assignments will be punished for cheating.
Students are not to get out of their seats to get their assignments off of the printers. The teacher will either hand them to you or assign specific people for this task.
YOU WILL NOT CLEAR YOUR FILES UNTIL YOU ARE TOLD. If there is a question about your work, you must be able to back it up with a copy that matches from your files.
Recycle paper on the way out of the classroom.
TREAT STUDENTS, STAFF, AND TEACHERS WITH RESPECT AND COURTESY.
*Almost every job in your future will require some type of keyboarding!*
