Each student will select two presidents to research and debate in the tournament. Presidents will be selected on a first come first serve basis. A student’s final grade will not be affected by their choice of presidents. Students within the same class may not use the same president unless approved by the teacher.

Students will research the presidents selected to find qualities, characteristics and accomplishments that made their presidents successful. Each student will type a one page paper describing their presidents successes. (one page per president for a total of two pages) Pages should be double spaced, size 12 type and standard font.

Students must also include a reference page siting all sources used to find information.

DON’T SIMPLY COPY AND PASTE INFORMATION. PAPERS MUST BE IN YOUR OWN WORDS.

Two Page Paper Due Date: 9/22/01

Presidents will be placed into a tournament bracket. Students will debate their presidents through the tournament brackets and vote after each debate to decide which president should move on to the next round. This process will continue through the brackets until the class decides who the best president was.

Ist Round: must have six points to debate

2nd Round: must have five points to debate

3rd Round: must have four points to debate

4th Round: must have three points to debate

5th Round: must have two points to debate

6th Round: must have two points to debate
