GHS College Visit Policy

To make a college visit:
(College Visit Days are for seniors and 2nd semester juniors.)

1. Students visiting a college/university or vocational school accompanied by a parent or guardian will be allowed unlimited release time.

2. Students who make a visitation without a parent or guardian will be limited to two days released time from school. IF A STUDENT MAKES A VISITATION WITHOUT A PARENT OR GUARDIAN, HE/SHE MUST OBTAIN A COLLEGE VERIFICATION FORM. This form is available in the counseling office. This process must be completed at least one week in advance of the visitation.

3. Parents must call the high school to give permission prior to any college, university or vocational school visit.

4. The high school administration will then excuse the absence. (Note: Failure to follow any or all of the above procedures may result in the student receiving an unexcused absence.)
